Tournament Host Hotel & Local Area Information
The Hampton Inn® Fort Lauderdale Downtown–City Center is the host hotel for the 2010 South Florida Kickball Open tournament.
Located right in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale, the hotel offers easy access to the city's nightlife in the Riverwalk/Himmarshee district, as well as the Las Olas shopping, dining and entertainment area, and of course, the beach. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute drive from Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport, and the bars and restaurants in downtown area are about a 7 minute walk from the hotel.

Proximity to Bars/Restaurants
The hotel is just a couple blocks away from the city's downtown and Las Olas Blvd district areas. The two maps below should give you an idea of where everything is located relative to the host hotel.
Downtown Fort Lauderdale, in the Himmarshee/Riverwalk district is where all of the SFKO Tournament's social events will take place, and is about a 7 minute walk from the hotel. The Las Olas district is a nice upscale area with lots of restaurants/bars and shopping, and is a little further way but still within about 10-15 minutes walk. Las Olas Blvd will also lead you directly to the Fort Lauderdale Beach, but we recommend you drive, take a cab or the Sun Trolley there instead of walking since it is a couple of miles away from that point.

Getting to the Hotel from the Airport
Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL)
We recommend that you fly into Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) instead of Miami, as it is close to the city and the host hotel is only about a 10 minute cab ride away from the airport if there is little or no traffic. The map on the left should give you a pretty good idea of how close the hotel is to the airport.
Miami International Airport (MIA)
Miami's Internatinal airport (MIA) is much further of course, and is roughly a 35-40 minute drive away, assuming little to no traffic. If you find that your airfare is a little less flying into Miami instead of Ft. Lauderdale, please take into consideration the additional cost and time it takes in getting to and from Miami when comparing flying into FLL versus MIA.
