Tournament Field Information
The fields where the South Florida Kickball Open 2010 tournament games will be played are at Brian Piccolo Park, located about 25 - 30 minutes south-west from the host hotel (Hampton Inn) in downtown Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The tournament games will be played on grass soccer fields and the fields have lights, if needed.
Beer and wine (though no liquor) are permitted in the park, but no glass bottles or glass containers of any kind are allowed. Coolers are allowed so you may bring those if you have/need them, and we recommend using plastic solo cups or other non-glass containers (such as bubba kegs or thermos for example) for your beverages.
There are a couple of picnic tables near the tournament fields but very little shelters to provide any shade from the sun. However, there are some trees along the perimeter of the park that do provide some shade. It would be wise to bring and wear sunscreen. As it may also be windy on the fields, you should bring a hoodie, sweatshirt or windbreaker to keep you warm. Restroom facilities are conveniently located at the fields so you won't have to walk very far.
A shopping plaza with a supermarket, a liquor store, and a couple of restaurants (serving pizza, subs, chineese/japanese & sushi) as well as a Wendy's fast food franchaise, is located adjacent to the park, and is about a 10 minute walk away from the fields, so you will be able to purchase any snacks/beverages/supplies that you may need from the grocery or meals from the plaza restaurants. A lunch option on the fields is also being planned for the tourney in which burgers/hot dogs and beverages (soda/water) will be available.
For those who will not taking advantage of the tournament transporation package option and who will be driving to the fields themselves, there is ample parking located right next to the tournament fields. However, there is a park entry fee that you will have to pay everytime you drive into the park if you should leave for any reason. If you opted in on the tournament transportation package, you will not have to worry about this fee or drive for that matter. For more information regarding the transportation package, check the SFKO eventbrite page (via the registration link above) or email info@soflakickballopen.com with any questions.

Getting to the Fields from the Hotel
The fields are approximately 25-30 minutes drive away from the hotel. For those not wishing to rent a vehicle or drive, we are providing transportation to the fields from the Hampton Inn hotel and back on game day, Saturday Feb 20th. The cost for this is $20/person and you can purchase the transportation package on the eventbrite registration page (accessed via the registration link at the top of this page) but you must do so before Feb 6th otherwise you will have to find your own means of transportation to and from the fields.
